Harmony III
(Co-requisite for Grade IX practical)
The study of diatonic harmony primarily in major keys, with an emphasis on correct part writing, melody writing, harmonic and structural analysis.
Harmony IV
(Co-requisite for Grade X practical)
A continuation of Harmony III, this course introduces the
minor mode, modulation, and some of the larger forms.
Harmony V & Analysis V (Combined)
(Co-requisite for Diploma level practical)
Harmony V introduces the chromatic harmonic vocabulary of the late 19th century. Students will further their familiarity with various forms, such as fugue, sonata and song types.
**Private theory lessons are available in both the North and South locations, for all courses, including Counterpoint IV and History V.
